About Us

CREATION: The Volunteer Exempt Firefighter's Benevolent Association of Manhasset Lakeville was formed in 2014 by an act of the New York State Legislature and signed into Law by Governor Andrew Cuomo as Chapter 407 of the Laws of 2014 and Chapter 546 of the Laws of 2015.

PURPOSE: Providing relief, aid and assistance to the volunteer members of such corporation, who are disabled or injured in the performance of their duties, and their families, and to promote and safeguard the welfare of the volunteer members of the corporation. This not-for-profit entity will enhance morale by providing social and recreational activities for its volunteer membership and will also promote the volunteer fire service within the territory protected by the fire department of the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire District.

ELIGIBILITY: Current, Active M-LFD Firefighter/EMTs (who are temporary members until achieving Exempt status under NYS Law).

Former M-LFD members who served a minimum of five years with M-LFD and achieved Exempt status under NYS Law.
